Wall Preparation & Surface Repair
Substrate preparation that determines how good the finished wallcovering will look — and how long it will last.
Wallcovering telegraphs everything beneath it. Texture, patched damage, glossy paint and uneven drywall finish all show through the final surface unless the wall is properly prepared. Preparation is not an add-on; it is the foundation of the installation.
We prepare walls for wallcovering as part of our installation scope: repairing damage, skim coating textured or uneven surfaces, sanding, and priming with wallcovering-appropriate primers so the material bonds correctly and can be removed cleanly in the future.
On commercial projects, we review the specified level of finish and coordinate preparation responsibilities with the general contractor so the schedule holds.
